About Hanging by a Vine

John 15: 1-17 The Vine and the Branches

At the beginning of John 15 Jesus metaphorically likens Himself to a grape vine, as He explains to His disciples their next steps for successfully continuing the work He began on earth. He tells them these things right before He gives, unarguably, one of the most important commands of the bible: Love each other, as I have loved you. (That will be a blog post in the near future, BUT) our next steps are merely movements when they are not rooted in the source; that is Christ. He is our life line.

Like the Disciples of the New Testament, eyes wide open, I feel like I’m waiting for God’s next GLORIOUS move when the reality is He has been waiting on me?! Me. Faith is active; It lives, it breathes, it sings, it worships, it cries, it sacrifices….it is You and I.

This blog is about our encouraging one another to live fruitfully connected to Christ. I want us all in. Let us explore together what it means to be Hanging by a Vine.
